What we do
Evaluation
At DFW Interventional Pain Institute, Dr. Lopez and his staff will take the time to listen to you, review your records and images, perform a physical exam and order any new required tests to come up with the most accurate diagnosis possible.
If you have back, neck, knee, shoulder, ankle or any kind of pain lasting more than one week, come see us at DFW Interventional Pain Institute and we will come up with a plan to help you live your best life.
Treatments
After a thorough evaluation of your symptoms and medical history, Dr. Lopez and his staff will come up with a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to each patient that takes into account your lifestyle and desired outcomes.
This holistic treatment plan may include physical therapy, psychological therapy, occupational therapy, medications, procedures and/or surgical referral when appropriate.

What types of pain can DFW Interventional Pain Institute help with?
Below are some common conditions we treat regularly at DFW Interventional Pain Institute. Every patient is different, and this list is by no means exhaustive, so if you have additional questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Back pain, or pain in the spinal area.
Many of our patients experience back pain or other related pain symptoms in the back. These range from pinched nerves and sciatica all the way to more complicated exhibitions of pain. We also often treat patients for sciatica, which is an irritation of the sciatic nerve that exhibits symptoms in the lower back, buttocks and leg.
Neck pain and upper spinal pain.
Your neck is composed of seven vertebrae that are connected to muscles, tendons and ligaments. Many of our patients experience neck pain because of strains from work-related tasks or from previous injuries with delayed pain symptoms.
Shoulder pain.
Many of our patients who are treated for shoulder pain experience symptoms related to arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis and/or frozen shoulder. Their symptoms span feeling a loss of range of motion all the way to a painful burning sensation. Our treatments include everything from physical therapy to corticosteroid injections with a focus on treating the patient’s specific needs.
Knee pain, elbow pain and other pain related to joints.
Because walking is a (obvious) daily part of life, many of our patients come to see us for knee pain. Many patients experience knee pain when driving, lifting heavy objects or trying to participate in their favorite active activities. Many patients are familiar with hyaluronic acid injections and other knee pain treatments, but there are other ways of treating knee pain in different patients such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.
Pain associated with cancer treatments.
Cancer treatment is difficult as it is, but one of the things most people don’t think about is the pain associated with those treatments. Your oncologist may refer you to our practice to help alleviate the pain related to cancer treatment, and Dr. Lopez can help find a solution that will work specifically for your needs while undergoing cancer treatment.
Botox (and other treatments) for chronic migraines.
Migraines are often one of the most debilitating reasons we see patients because they’re difficult to predict and have severe impact to your daily life. Botox is one of many treatments we consider for migraines and make sure we find a treatment that is specific for our patients’ invididual needs.
Our patient philosophy is that living with pain is not your only option. Through advances in medication and therapeutic practices, our team can help you live your best life.
